Courage and true leadership may be in short supply when it comes to Republicans, but there is no shortage of squishy GOP weasels pushing liberal causes.
Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger teamed up with John Podesta, the former aide to Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, to say during an appearance on MSNBC that the traditional “climate change dialogue” is not dissuaded by high-polluting countries like China and India.
“Well, I think that there will always be obstacles,” Schwarzenegger said of reaching those countries, before adding, “I think all of it has to do with communication.”
The former governor of California said the same global push for fitness and a healthy lifestyle needs to be applied to climate change.
“We want to do the same thing here. I think this whole climate change dialogue is not going to work. I think this has been used for the last few decades,” he said. “I think we should address it directly, what it is, which is pollution.”
“We want to terminate pollution. There’s the message we should get out there,” Schwarzenegger continued.
Podesta, a senior advisor to President Joe Biden on clean energy innovation and implementation, and “Ahnold,” who at the age of 76 is beginning to look like Joe Biden with all the cosmetic alterations to his appearance, are speaking at the Austrian World Summit — the actor’s Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative is backing the summit.
Schwarzenegger has been pushing the same message for over a year.
“As long as they keep talking about global climate change, they are not gonna go anywhere. ‘Cause no one gives a s— about that,” he said during a May 2023 appearance on CBS’ Sunday Morning.
“So my thing is, let’s go and rephrase this and communicate differently about it and really tell people — we’re talking about pollution. Pollution creates climate change, and pollution kills,” Schwarzenegger said.
During his opening speech, Schwarzenegger said Society must do “whatever it takes” to address climate change — this from the man who said during the pandemic, “Screw your freedom.”
“Envision the world without pollution. Imagine it without any death from exhaust or oil or smoke or coal. Picture your children and your grandchildren playing in clean lakes and rivers and breathing fresh air,” he said, according to Irish News.
“What would you do to make that vision a reality? I know my answer – whatever it takes. Whatever it takes,” he added. “Stop the bleeding, save our children, save the planet, save our future. I know you have the brains, I know you have the heart. And I know you have the power – so let’s do it.”
