Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) predicted Thursday that former President Trump will “win big” in the upcoming presidential election.
“I still think this is his race, he has clearly been the front-runner since the day he announced. And he has not lost that status, whether it was in the primary or the general, and I fully expect that he’s gonna win, and win big in November,” Sanders said in an appearance on Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom” on Thursday with anchors Bill Hemmer and Sandra Smith.
Sanders, who served as a White House press secretary during the Trump presidency, has historically supported him. However, she has also previously hinted at a lack of interest in facing vetting to be a vice-presidential pick for him.
“Look, I absolutely love the job I have. I think it’s one of the best jobs I could ever ask for, and I am honored to serve as governor, and I hope I get to do it for the next seven years,” Sanders said in an interview on CBS News’s “Face the Nation” back in January.
In her Thursday interview on Fox News, Sanders noted that Biden and Trump “both have a record of service as president.” She said Trump had “success” on issues like the economy and national security and has “big contrasts” with Biden on such issues.
“Because both of these people have been president, it’s a very different election, in that sense,” Sanders said. “And the reason that people show up and they cast their ballot, those are all places that Donald Trump is absolutely crushing Joe Biden, and I think that’s why he’ll crush him in November.”
