Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) caught the attention of former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines when he served up a biology lesson on the differences between males and females in relation to athletics — Gaines, of course, was forced to compete against Lia Thomas, a biological male who decided he was suddenly a woman.
“The differences between biological males and biological females explode during puberty,” Kennedy explained at a news conference this week. “Girls during puberty develop 14% smaller hearts; their lungs are 12% smaller… You cannot debate that. That’s just a biological fact that helps boys take in oxygen and pump blood more efficiently than girls can. That gives boys a clear edge in endurance sports.”
“Like swimming, for example. Cycling. Rowing,” Kennedy continued. “Girls develop a wider pelvis. That decreases the amount of force their legs exert when they’re lifting, when they’re kicking, when they’re pedaling. That’s another relative disadvantage vis-à-vis boys or men. When you compare female athletes to their male counterparts.”
“A sitting US Senator has to explain the physical differences between girls and boys to other sitting US Senators ….what a time to be an American,” Riley wrote while sharing footage of Kennedy’s remarks.

Just getting started, the GOP senator would turn his attention to boys.
“Now, boys, in contrast, develop broader shoulders,” he said. “A biological fact, folks, that allows them to make space for more upper body muscle mass and gives them a decided advantage when competing against a girl.”
“It’s hard to think — I can’t think of a sport in which a higher muscle-to-fat ratio isn’t helpful,” Kennedy concluded. “The average boy will grow five inches taller than the average girl, that’s just a fact. Even when men and women are the same height, men have higher levels of bone density, which helps them move more forcefully and escape more injuries.”
All of these same factors come into play with females in combat roles, or serving as police officers, when they find themselves squaring up against a man.
Yet, we are forced to live in a world where young boys and girls are convinced they can be whatever gender they desire and assured that there are any number of pharmaceutical concoctions that will allow them to switch genders randomly.
And if you cling to the reality of nature’s law and refuse to pretend that a boy can be a girl, or vice versa, you are accused of being transphobic and intolerant and are treated like an outcast in society.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on the social media platform X:
Let’s bring actual science to the forefront of sports please.
Men cannot compete against women.

It’s amazing we have to waste time talking to adults like they’re 3 years old.
-A man has a penis.
-If you print more money, it will buy less.
-Defunding police will increase crime.
-The legislature makes the laws.

We have a Supreme Court Justice that can’t define what a woman is.
We’re in full fledged

Who ever thought we would live in a time when part of the country pretends they don’t know what a woman is?

If they expect us to believe something so preposterous as boys are girls and men are women, what other lies are they going to expect us to believe? What lies have they already gotten away with?
