Earlier this week Resist the Mainstream reported that an illegal immigrant from El Salvador was arrested for the murder of Rachel Morin, a mother of five from Maryland.
Trump has since personally called Morin’s mother to offer his condolences.
Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez was charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape last Friday
Morin’s tragic death went viral on social media because she was not Martinez-Hernandez’s “first victim,” according to Harford County Sheriff Jeffery Gahler during a Saturday morning press conference.
“It is my understanding that this suspect, this monster, fled to the United States after committing the brutal murder of a young woman in El Salvador a month earlier in January of 2023,” he added.
“Once in our country, he brutally attacked a nine-year-old girl and her mother in a home invasion in March of 2023 in Los Angeles,” he continued. “After we had the video, we knew what he looked like, but we didn’t know who he was.”
Gahler saved time to criticize the Biden administration over Morin’s death.
“We are 1800 miles away from the southern border,” he said. “And American citizens are not safe because of failed immigration policies.”
“This is the second time in two years that an innocent Harford County woman has lost her life to a criminal in our country illegally.”
“In both cases, they are suspects from El Salvador with ties to criminal gangs. This should not be happening.”
Morin’s murder also went viral after it was revealed Martinez-Hernandez entered the US as a “gotaway” after being released three times, Fox News reported.
Trump called Morin’s mother, Patty, Thursday morning to express his sympathies.
“I am deeply touched by President Trump’s kindness and concern,” Patty said in a statement to the Baltimore Sun.
“He was genuine and truly wanted to know how our family was coping. He asked about Rachel and showed honest compassion for her untimely death.”
“His words brought comfort to me during this very difficult time.”
Trump’s phone call happened as 23-year-old Martinez-Hernandez arrived at Martin State Airport in Middle River at around 11:30 am local time on Thursday.
The Trump campaign issued a press release following the former president’s conversation with Patty.
“President Donald Trump called Patty Morin, the mother of slain jogger Rachel Morin, in a heartfelt manner to offer his deepest condolences,” it read.
“Rachel Morin was tragically murdered in August 2023 while running on the Ma & Pa trail in Harford County.”
Patty Morin criticized the Biden administration for its lack of contact during a Fox News interview.
She also condemned Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and the administration for a statement given to CNN.
“First and foremost of course our hearts break for the children, the loved ones and the friends of the individual who was murdered.” the statement read.
Patty took issue with the use of “individual” instead of her daughter’s name.
Morin’s body was found last August on the Ma and Pa Trail, two days after she disappeared.
Gahler argued Saturday that Martinez-Hernandez “did not come here to make a better life for himself or his family,” but instead, “came here to escape a crime he committed in El Salvador.”
