A simple dinner at Golden Corral took a surprising turn with a new family member’s arrival.
Tayvia Woodfork went to a North Little Rock, Arkansas, Golden Corral with her family but ended up in the restroom due to stomach pains, Fox Television Stations reported.
At 26, Tayvia discovered her discomfort was from a surprise pregnancy, and she was in labor at 37 weeks.
Tayvia had a “cryptic pregnancy,” where someone doesn’t realize they’re pregnant until labor starts, according to Cleveland Clinic.
In a Golden Corral restroom, Tayvia, a Mississippi resident, gave birth to a healthy, 6-pound baby boy.
She honored the birth location by naming him Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork.
Golden Corral’s North Little Rock staff shared the happy news on Facebook.
“IT’S A BOY! Please welcome Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork, who arrived while his mom was dining at Golden Corral! Born right here in North Little Rock, AR, he now carries our name!” the post read.
“Both are doing great! Welcome to the Golden Corral family, Tamaar! We’ll ensure Mom has plenty of Golden Corral gift cards,” the post continued.
Golden Corral kept their word, giving the new mom a $200 gift card and other gifts, as Tayvia’s mother, Tameka Woodfork, shared on Facebook.
The story caught the eye of Golden Corral’s national team, who posted Tayvia’s photos on X.
“Our team was surprised by this birth at our restaurant, but we’re honored to be part of Tamaar’s life. Having him carry the Golden Corral name is truly special,” a spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
“More than anything, we’re thankful for his safe arrival and Tayvia’s quick recovery. We look forward to celebrating Tamaar’s milestones at Golden Corral!” the spokesperson added.
