Biden faces increasing pressure to replace Vice President Kamala Harris with a seasoned political figure to boost his struggling re-election campaign.
Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Kathleen Parker suggested on Tuesday that Democrats should revisit their recent history for a new VP candidate.
Biden’s lagging performance in national polls and key swing states has sparked concern among Democrats about the necessity of a significant shake-up to defeat Trump in November.
Trump made headlines last month after a New York Times poll showed him leading over Biden, 81, in five crucial battleground states, as previously reported by Resist the Mainstream.
Since then Biden’s health and capability has come into question, especially after the president’s various statue moments over the past few weeks where he seemingly “froze” mid-event.
Doctors have even floated their theories for what condition could be behind these slew of embarrassing moments caught on camera.
Parker questioned why Hillary Clinton hasn’t been considered as a potential running mate in a recent column, citing growing concerns over whether Biden would even be fit to serve a second term.
She argued that Clinton might bring reassurance to voters concerned about Biden’s “steady decline over the years,” despite being 76 herself.
The columnist highlighted Biden’s visible “stumbles, his search for words, his occasional blank stare,” calling it “impossible to ignore.”
“If Biden needs to step down, even those who didn’t vote for Clinton would have confidence in her ability to keep the country on track,” Parker wrote.
Clinton served as First Lady, Secretary of State and a U.S. Senator before her 2016 loss to Trump. Parker stated that this defeat has left her with “unfinished business,” which could be enough to motivate her to throw her hat into the political ring yet again.
“At 76, she might want no part of it, but it’s hard to retire when you feel your job isn’t done,” Parker explained.
Parker admitted that replacing Harris, the first female and first black vice president, with Clinton could alienate the black vote, then suggested appointing her as Attorney General.
A Politico/Morning Consult poll revealed that just 34 percent believe Harris could win a presidential election if nominated, with 57 percent doubting her chances.
Only 40 percent of voters think Harris would make a good president, while 51 percent disagree.
This skepticism includes 31 percent of Democrats and 62 percent of Independents, highlighting Harris’ struggles as Biden’s second-in-command.
Resist the Mainstream has reported on Democrats’ panic over Biden’s 2024 campaign, as his recent public appearances have increasingly fueled speculation about whether he will ultimately bow out of the race or be forced to step aside.
Americans have remained fixated on what has been dubbed the “Great Joe Biden Replacement Theory,” with ideas floating around the internet about how this switch-up could even happen.
When Biden seemingly froze on stage during a major fundraising event this past weekend, Piers Morgan sounded the alarm by labeling it “the moment everyone realized the president’s not fit for office.”
The White House has blamed deep fakes for Biden’s string of embarrassing public malfunctions, only to be swiftly ripped on social media for her “unbelievable” Orwelian stance on the matter.
