A man and a woman were found dead at a home in eastern Connecticut on Wednesday after a women called 911 to report an emergency at the address and then apologized before disconnecting the call.
State troopers arrived at the home in Voluntown at about 11:30 a.m. and found a man dead in the driveway with visible injuries, WVIT reported.
Troopers unsuccessfully tried to make contact with a woman they believed was in the house and finally sent a drone through an open door several hours later. Video from the drone showed an unresponsive woman on a stairway.
Troopers entered the home just before 4 p.m. and determined the woman was dead, WTNH said.
Then they lifted the shelter in place order they had earlier issued.
Investigators have not released the names of the dead or said how they died.
