We are all aware of how difficult it is to become a police officer. It requires tenacity, a lot of practice, enthusiasm, and a sincere desire to help others. They have to do rescue operations, put on body armor, and use a variety of tools.
Work that is physically demanding and mentally taxing, requiring you to manage a wide range of emergencies, including life-threatening ones, makes it one of the dangerous, physically difficult, and occasionally mentally draining professions, and this server knows how demanding it is, which is why the unknown server decided to reward them for their excellent work by giving them a token.
Two Madison County Sheriff deputies were eating lunch at Frescos Kitchen & Grill in Rexburg when an unexpected surprise happened after they received their final bill.
A server at Fresco’s Kitchen and Grill left a note after taking care of their meals and decided to pick up their tab as well.
According to KOMO News, the note reads, “I know it’s not even close to enough, but this one’s on me as a small thank you, You guys sacrifice so much for us & I greatly appreciate it.”
The thank-you message from their waiter, who gladly paid the bill for their meal, moved the deputies, and they weren’t alone. Their coworkers were apparently affected by the gesture as well, prompting the sheriff’s office to compose their own “note.” On the Madison County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, they posted a picture of the note the server left.
The sheriff’s office writes:
“Once again the incredible support from our community shines! This is a photo of the note left on the tab of two of our deputies by their server at Frescos Kitchen & Grill after they had lunch this afternoon. We can not express out gratitude enough. This is always unexpected and always hits the heartstrings of all of us here at the Sheriff’s Office. We love our great community and are proud to serve here, we know we have immense support from the community but it still comes as such an unexpected surprise when such kindness is extended to us.”
“To: whomever it was that did this kind and generous deed…THANK YOU! Thank you as a Sheriff’s Office and thank you as their supervisor, it gives me great comfort knowing that there are others who are watching over and caring for our deputies!” The post concluded with a warm thank-you, specifically directed to the selfless server.
Kudos to this selfless for setting a wonderful example of how to express gratitude to our law enforcement personnel, who selflessly risk their lives every day to fight crime so that we don’t have to!
Instead of hearing about police officers being refused service or treated disrespectfully, I believe this is the kind of thing we need to see more of.
Thank you to all first responders; you are all greatly appreciated! Gestures of gratitude like these serve as a reminder of why they do what they do.
