The Democrats have a serious Joe Biden problem and top party members could be plotting to make an intervention before the bumbling octogenarian costs them the White House.
Faced with the grim reality that their propaganda about Biden isn’t convincing voters about the 81-year-old’s mental fitness for another four years, the Democrat political elite is reportedly on the brink of pulling the plug on their malfunctioning candidate if he fails to perform at next week’s high stakes debate with former President Donald J. Trump.
The debate which is the earliest that a head-to-head between the candidates has ever been held is a gambit by Team Biden to reverse his sinking poll numbers in an environment that is heavily slanted in his favor, broadcast by CNN and moderated by rabidly partisan Trump haters Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.
“I think there’s going to be a debate, they have deliberately thrown down the gauntlet for an early debate and I think that’s gonna be the point at which Americans judge: is he ready for another term or not,” said Mark Penn, a former Clinton advisor and polling guru.
With rules that have been set up to give Biden an advantage, there is no excuse for him not to “win” the debate. But if he steps on a rake on national television, the party’s heavy hitters are reportedly poised to make their move.
The only thing I know for sure is this is a show – orchestrated. Biden’s never done so many events – they’re making sure you know he has to be replaced. Wouldn’t put it past them to give him a heart attack during the “debate” & blame Trump for his death. https://t.co/kxfWDAWmY4

According to the Daily Mail, if Biden crashes and burns in the debate, “It’ll take a united front of the liberal grandees to make Joe throw in the towel.”
“The only people who could force him out would be Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer,” an unnamed Democrat strategist told the outlet. “It would have to be the four of them collectively.”
But such a move to dislodge the notoriously stubborn Biden could be risky.
“One consultant theatrically described the difficulty level of replacing their candidate as similar to trying to turn that doomed container ship that careened into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore in May,” according to the outlet. “That sad story ended with a total collapse and six deaths.”
Convincing Biden to take one for the team isn’t the only hurdle that party elites would face. There is also the matter of dealing with VP Kamala Harris, a DEI pick that has come back to bite Democrats big time.
“It doesn’t just become Kamala. Kamala only becomes the nominee if Biden dies,” the Daily Mail quotes one unnamed consultant. Another Dem political insider believes that she has “failed so badly as vice president that she has made it nearly impossible for Biden to step aside – because the party would have to contend with progressive blowback over passing over the potential first black woman president.”
Swapping out Biden with anybody but his hand-picked veep could drive a wedge into the party if Harris is slighted in favor of a white replacement, instantly triggering howls of racism.
One name that wasn’t mentioned among Democrats who would make their appeal to Biden to step down is Hillary Clinton, the failed presidential candidate who has a rock-solid base of diehard loyalists, including at the Washington Post.
“Maybe Hillary Clinton could come to the rescue,” WaPo columnist Kathleen Parker wrote, suggesting that Democrats should dump Kamala entirely and replace her with Mrs. Clinton as Biden’s running mate.
“Inarguably, a significant obstacle to a Biden win is Kamala Harris, whose low popularity has not been improved by her lackluster performance as vice president. More independents and disenchanted Republicans might swing for Biden if it weren’t for the prospect of a President Harris — not because of her sex, race or any other demographic category, but because of her competency, or lack thereof,” according to Parker.
“No one has mentioned her as a possible running mate for Biden far as I know, but why not replace Harris with Clinton? At 76, she might want no part of it, but it’s hard to retire when you feel your job isn’t done,” she wrote. “If Biden needs to step down, even those who didn’t vote for Clinton would have confidence in her ability to keep the country on track.”
So there it is—a way to backdoor Hillary into the presidency that she has always felt entitled to.
Democrats are going to have to do something drastic or risk going down with the ship and its feeble captain, turning the control of the Justice Department and legal system over to Trump who they probably rightly fear will use the precedent that they have set against them.
