Vladimir Putin‘s newest stealth submarine Arkhangelsk recently underwent its first sea trials, putting NATO on alert.
Knewz.com has learned that the state-of-the-art submarine will be stationed at the submarine base in Zapadnaya Litsa, near Norway.
The Arkhangelsk stealth submarine is believed to be a powerful boost for the Russian navy, which has been fighting a seemingly losing war with Ukrainian military elements.
The reportedly “undetectable” submarine is part of the Russian Yasen-M or Project 885M vessels and will be capable of firing Zircon nuclear missiles with a 620-mile range. In addition, the latest submarine will also be armed with Kalibr and Onyx cruise missiles, The Mirror reported.
According to The Daily Express, the Arkhangelsk submarine will be equipped with “unstoppable” 6,670mph nuclear missiles. Following sea trials and state trials, the new submarines will join the Russian Navy later in 2024.
The latest Yasen-M submarine is believed to be extremely hard to detect by Western naval elements and could pose a significant threat to NATO military bases, naval convoys, and “onshore critical infrastructure during a crisis,” per experts cited by The Daily Express.

It is worth noting that another Yasen-M stealth submarine, the Kazan, was seen docked at the Cuban capital of Havana on June 11, passing within 30 miles of the American coast. The nuclear-powered submarine was joined by the missile frigate, Admiral Gorshkov.
Both vessels are believed to be capable of launching Oniks supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles and projectiles belonging to the Kalibr family, making them capable of striking land-based targets.
Pro-Kremlin media claimed that the warships were carrying Zircon hypersonic missiles. These weapons are said to pack jet engines capable of Mach 6 flight and can also be adapted to nuclear warheads.
According to the online news outlet, Clash Report (via X), Kazan and Admiral Gorshkov conducted simulated missile strikes, firing on imaginary targets more than 300 miles away on the same day the U.S. Navy became aware of them.

The arrival of the Kazan stealth submarine has raised concerns that the Yasen-M vessel was “probing for weaknesses on NATO’s extreme flank,” per The Daily Express. The fleet is also expected to make port calls in Venezuela, a noted United States adversary.
On June 5, a Royal Air Force maritime surveillance plane noticed the Kazan off the coast of Scotland, following which United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was given a top-secret briefing, The Daily Express reported.
Significant Russian maritime war potential being stationed in Cuba, along with the upcoming deployment of the Arkhangelsk at the Russian submarine base in Zapadnaya Litsa, which is around 37 miles from NATO member-state Norway, seemingly reminds the world of Putin’s threat regarding the direct involvement of NATO and the West in the Ukraine war.

“This constant escalation can lead to serious consequences… Representatives of countries that are NATO members, particularly in Europe, should be aware of what they are playing with,” Putin had said towards the end of May, via The Presidency of Russia.
“It is another step towards a serious conflict in Europe, towards a global conflict,” he added.
However, U.S. officials reportedly do not yet consider the placement of the Russian nuclear-powered stealth submarine in Cuba “a threat,” at least, not currently. “This is about Russia showing that it’s still capable of some level of global power projection,” an anonymous U.S. official said in a statement via Al Jazeera.
