Former President Trump plans to announce his pick for vice president at the Republican National Convention in July, as suspense builds over which GOP figure Trump will choose to join him on his 2024 ticket.
“Are you going to tell me who your vice presidential choice is?” television host Dr. Phil McGraw asked Trump in an hourlong interview released last week.
“I can’t yet, but we have some very good people. I’m going to do it in the convention,” Trump said.
The former president had previously hinted that there was a “good chance” he would announce his running mate at the convention in Milwaukee, slated for July 15-18.
He hinted at the same plan to Fox News last week, saying “I think I’ll announce who that person’s going to be during the convention.”
“I think that’s pretty normal — during the convention, it will be an interesting period of time,” Trump said on “Hannity.”
