One of the nation’s thoroughly corrupted institutions, the Department of Justice, has seen its reputation plummet to new depths in recent years and Attorney General Merrick Garland put critics on notice in a scathing Washington Post op-ed.
The nation’s top law enforcement official, whose agency has seemingly morphed into the de facto secret police of the Democratic Party, accused critics of the politicized DOJ of endangering the lives of agents and endangering “our democracy” which is the phrase that means one-party rule by the authoritarian left political party and its destructive, anti-American agenda.
Joe Biden’s hand-picked top cop opens his attack on critics by citing a recent conviction of an individual in California who threatened to bomb an FBI field office to suggest that heightened scrutiny of the two-tiered judicial system that now exists crosses the line, with one of his grievances being calls to defund his henchman Special Counsel Jack Smith.
“In recent weeks, we have seen an escalation of attacks that go far beyond public scrutiny, criticism, and legitimate and necessary oversight of our work. They are baseless, personal, and dangerous,” Garland wrote, an opinion that would seem to be counter to the right to free speech that has existed for the entire history of the United States until recently.
The DOJ posted Garland’s political screed to its official X account on Tuesday.

“These attacks come in the form of threats to defund particular department investigations, most recently the special counsel’s prosecution of the former president,” Garland wrote.
“They come in the form of conspiracy theories crafted and spread for the purpose of undermining public trust in the judicial process itself. Those include false claims that a case brought by a local district attorney and resolved by a jury verdict in a state trial was somehow controlled by the Justice Department,” he said because there is no reason to suspect foul play when a top DOJ prosecutor took a demotion to go and work for Soros-backed lardass Alvin Bragg.
“They come in the form of dangerous falsehoods about the FBI’s law enforcement operations that increase the risks faced by our agents,” Garland said. “They come in the form of false claims that the department is politicizing its work to somehow influence the outcome of an election.”
“Continued unfounded attacks against the Justice Department’s employees are dangerous for people’s safety. They are dangerous for our democracy. This must stop,” he concluded.
Tough words but also words of desperation from a man who during his tenure has dialed up a Gestapo-style raid on former President Donald J. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and has unleashed his unprincipled prosecutors to concoct charges against him with the obvious intent to convict the top opposition figure and send him to prison for the rest of his life.
There is also the matter of the use of the full power of the federal law enforcement apparatus to target Trump’s supporters, equating concerned parents at school board meetings to terrorists, throwing pro-life advocates who protested at abortion mills into prison for years and repeatedly making false claims about the threat of “white supremacy” which is a purely political, nebulously defined, catch-all category for those who oppose one-party Democrat rule.
There’s also the matter of the whistleblower who outed the FBI as functioning like a secret police for Joe Biden’s party.
The FBI does not allow Trump supporters to hold a national security clearance in the US government.

For the entirety of the nation’s existence, there has never been such a loss of trust in federal government institutions, and there’s a reason for that. If Garland wants to see who’s really a threat to democracy, he needs to glance in a mirror.
Restoring full public confidence in the Justice Department and FBI is going to be a monumental task considering the damage that’s been done and it starts with a change in leadership, because as the old Greek proverb goes, “A fish rots from the head down,” and the sooner that Garland is gone, the sooner the tough job of righting the ship can get underway.
