When not portraying weakness on the world stage while attending the G7 Summit in southern Italy, President Biden was touting his commitment to feeding the military-industrial complex through the continued pursuit of war in Ukraine over a peace settlement.
The feeble 81-year-old president held a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announcing a 10-year bilateral security agreement and a G7 sign-off on a $50 billion loan to Ukraine backed by frozen Russian assets Biden and the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Canada, and Japan agreed to.
Biden also managed to feed the notion that everything he does is carefully scripted when he admonished Bloomberg White House reporter Josh Wingrove for not playing “by the rules” after calling on him at the press conference — the president said up top that he and Zelenskyy would each call on two reporters. The reporter’s sin, according to Biden, is that he asked a question about “another subject.”
Biden holds a VERY RARE, highly scripted “press conference” — then scolds the press for asking him a question: “I wish you guys would play by the rules a little bit”

“I have a question for President Zelenskyy shortly on the announcements. But if you don’t mind I’d like to ask you about your discussions on the situation in Gaza here at the summit,” Wingrove said.
“You were asked just a short time ago about it after the skydiving demonstration. Can you give us your assessment of Hamas’s response? And do you believe that they are trying to work towards a deal, or is this response working against the deal? And what is your message to allies, including those here at the G7, about what more, if anything, the U.S. can do to drive towards a peace agreement? Thank you,” Wingrove asked.
“Wish you guys would play by the rules a little bit,” a tired-sounding Biden replied. “I’m here to talk about a critical situation in Ukraine. And you ask me another subject. I’ll be happy to answer in detail later.”
He proceeded to answer the question anyway.
“But the bottom line is that we made an agreement. I’ve laid out an approach that has been endorsed by the U.N. Security Council, by the G7, by the Israelis,” Biden added. “And then the biggest hang-up so far is Hamas refusing to sign on even though they have submitted something similar. Whether or not it comes to fruition remains to be seen. We’re going to continue to push. I don’t have a final answer for you.”
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on the social media platform X:
Fun fact: Donald Trump doesn’t need the questions fed to him in advance. He owns the press, not the other way around.

Yes, the rules that they follow the script so he can mumble a response that’s on the teleprompter. Spontaneous questions cause a short circuit in President Potato Head’s gray matter.

He can’t go off script… He hast to stay within the confines of his notecards

… wait what are the rules of the press?

Can’t wait to see if he’ll show up to debate President Trump @JoeBiden

Why is it Biden can’t respond to tough questions? Press conferences are not supposed to be scripted speeches
