New Mexico police apprehended an 11-year-old on Thursday following a month-long spree of terrorizing residents through burglaries, auto thefts, and shootings.
Local reports have unveiled a series of charges against the juvenile, whose identity remains undisclosed due to their age.
The long list of charges include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, shooting into an occupied dwelling, aggravated battery, unlawful possession of a weapon by a minor, non-residential burglary, criminal damage to property over $1,000, and conspiracy to commit a fourth-degree felony.
The crime saga commenced on May 5 with the theft of a Kia Forete in northeast Albuquerque, Fox News highlighted.
A woman subsequently reported an incident involving four juveniles hurling rocks at her home, resulting in injury to her leg.
A 12-year-old contacted law enforcement on the same day, alleging that a group identifying themselves as the “Kia Boyz” were engaged in rock-throwing and attempted break-ins at the woman’s residence.
Albuquerque officers sprang into action on May 17 following a report of a commercial burglary.
An eyewitness reported a stolen vehicle crashing through the entrance of a store, resulting in a staggering $15,000 worth of damages.
Another alarming incident occurred on May 29 when a man dialed emergency services to report being shot at by four juveniles in a blue Kia.
The altercation ensued after the man confronted them for loitering in front of his residence.
Albuquerque police received a distress call last week concerning a man who sustained a gunshot wound to his hand on General Chennault.
Authorities later discovered a handgun at the scene, further intensifying concerns about escalating violence in the area.
Albuquerque police Chief Harold Medina expressed disappointment in remarks following the arrest of an 11-year-old for his crimes.
“Disappointing to see a 11-year-old arrested for a crimes – from burglary to shooting a firearm,” APD’s Medina said.
“But this armed individual’s behavior was escalating and he was a danger to the community.”
“We need to do something about the toxic mix of guns and social media. Kids need consequences,” he added.
X users also weighed in on the story, with some dubbing the story “insane.”
Others reemphasized the arrested boy’s age, then directed attention to holding his parents accountable.
Resist the Mainstream has reported on the rise in crime from young people.
A group of black teens, for example, recently forced a woman to miscarry after she and her husband were brutally attacked as they walked on a Chicago street.
The group reportedly said “we own the street” amid the incident, sparking a firestorm online.
The woman recounted that the teens pepper-sprayed her in the face, kicked her in the stomach, and yanked out a clump of her hair while the mob held back her husband.
A 14-year-old male struck the husband in the head, while a 17-year-old female pulled the female victim’s hair, Resist the Mainstream reported.
Photos revealed a laceration on the woman’s face and a chunk of hair ripped from her head.
She explained that her husband was restrained by the group of teens during the attack and suffered a beating himself.
Authorities took the two teens into custody, charging each with one count of misdemeanor battery.
