Few Democrats on Capitol Hill are more annoying than U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), a man steeped in interparty rancor.
Schiff had his Hillary Clinton-esque “deplorables” moment Thursday at a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, attacking the moral values of Republican voters while distorting the facts around a nondisclosure agreement involving Stormy Daniels — the porn star who claimed she had sexual relations with Donald Trump, after admitting in a statement an affair never happened. For his part the former president has been consistent all along, denying he was ever involved in sexual relations with Daniels.

Then again, this is the man who lied as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee claiming there was “ample evidence” of Trump’s presidential campaign colluding with Russia. After a two-plus year investigation and millions of taxpayer dollars burned, the claim proved to be a hoax.
“My Republican colleagues don’t really contest Donald Trump’s guilt; this is the fascinating thing,” Schiff said. “Their argument is essentially he should have never been prosecuted, or they falsely claim it was a political prosecution, or they falsely claim it should have been a misdemeanor, not a felony.”
“But they don’t contest — not really — that Donald Trump was making hush money payments to a porn star to hide their affair from voters,” the politician continued. “What they’re really saying is they’re more than comfortable electing — nominating and electing as the president of the United States — someone making hush money payments to a porn star.
“The party formally of the moral majority is now, I suppose, hoping to fashion some kind of immoral majority to reinstate Donald Trump as president.”
Keep in mind, since the 1990s Congress has paid out $17 million worth of “hush payments” to alleged victims of sexual harassment, discrimination, and other cases.
Obsessed with destroying Trump to the point that it appears to be a sickness, Schiff opened his remarks by repeating the term “guilty” 34 times — this is the number of politically motivated, trumped-up counts the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee was hit with.
“I want to begin by quoting the jury in the Manhattan hush money payment trial,” the Democrat said. “Guilty, guilty, guilty, guilty,” he said 34 times. “This was what the jury pronounced, unanimously on every count.”
A jury seated in one of the bluest districts in America deliberated less than 12 hours before rendering a historic first conviction of a U.S. president.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on the social media platform X:
This guy is a repugnant, treasonous criminal. He makes me vomit.

Hunters laptop and Ashleys diary tells us exactly who the immoral ones are…

And yet Mr Schiff was the one who promoted an entirely fictitious Russian collusion hoax for years.

He has a lot of nerve talking about morals

Went from deplorable minority to immoral majority. I have such a MAGA boner.

Schiff pretended for years that he had evidence of Russian collusion, but that it was classified and now we know that he was lying every single day. He shouldn’t become California’s next senator. He should become another one of California’s unemployed.
