Curtis James Jackson III, known as 50 Cent, met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill. He was there with civil rights attorney Ben Crump to discuss Black entrepreneurs in the liquor industry.
Jackson voiced support for Trump earlier this year. Asked about the 2024 election, he said he hadn’t decided yet.
He told CBS News’s Nikole Killion, “Black men identify with Trump” because “they’ve got RICO charges [too].” 50 Cent said Black men “identify” with Trump, talking to CBS News.
Trump faces 34 felony counts and a RICO charge in Georgia. He and his allies call the charges a “scam” and politically motivated.
This isn’t the first time the rapper stirred controversy with Trump comments. In March, he predicted Trump would win the election.
“I think Trump’s gonna be president again, but I’m not gonna say that,” he said. In February, he reacted with outrage to NYC’s plan to give migrants prepaid credit cards.
He hinted support for Trump, writing, “Maybe Trump is the answer.” In 2020, 50 Cent briefly endorsed Trump over Biden’s tax plan.
“WHAT THE F—! (VOTE ForTRUMP) IM OUT,” he wrote on Instagram. But, a few days later, he recanted his support for Trump.
