Bill Maher once again warned Democrats that they will be “F–ked” in the 2024 election if they don’t change up their stance on immigration, following this week’s stunning election results in various nations throughout Europe.
At the beginning of the week, European voters made their stances clear, largely rejecting far-left policies in the European Union Parliament elections, particularly in Germany and France. Immigration has been plaguing the continent for the last several years, as they face an invasion of Middle Eastern migrants.
“Voters again for the European Parliament said we do not like this much immigration,” Maher said, quoting The Atlantic’s David Frum, who warned, “If liberals insist that enforcing borders is a job only fascists will do, then voters will hire fascists to do what liberals won’t.”
“Voters keep saying over and over again we are not comfortable with this level of immigration. I understand why. It doesn’t make you a racist to say that,” Maher continued, noting recent comments by Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA), who said that by making an executive order on the border, and “reviving Trump’s asylum ban, Biden has undermined American values.”
“And then they all stand back and go, ‘We don’t want to be called a racist. So we will not make a move on to immigration.’ It’s going to get them f—ed on Election Day. It’s happening. It’s happening in Europe right now. That proves it in Europe, and it’s going to happen here in America. It happened with Brexit. It’s going to happen again,” Maher continued.
During the discussion, writer Joel Stein, a guest on the show, pushed back, arguing there was a “real moral reason” to allow migrants into the U.S., prompting Maher to ask “at any number?
“No, no,” Stein responded.
“But that’s their point,” Maher replied, citing a poll revealing that “64% of Latinos” support giving the president authority to shut down the border and that “62% of registered voters” would deport all illegal immigrants in the U.S.
“Yeah, people hate immigrants,” Stein reacted.
“They don’t hate immigrants!” Maher fired back.
Maher himself seems to believe that Biden’s executive order on the border is nothing more than a pre-election “Hail Mary” that won’t work in his favor.
“If Biden loses this election, it’s going to be because of two things: He’s old… and immigration,” Maher said. “I mean, just on a political level, I don’t think they could have handled it worse.”
“The question that Democrats don’t seem to be able to have the balls to answer is just how many is too many?” he later added. “And like, infinity is the answer- if you don’t give that answer, you’re a racist. That’s their essential problem with this issue.”
Maher isn’t the only one who believes that Europe’s elections could be an indicator of the 2024 presidential election. Following the surprising result of the EU’s parliamentary vote, many experts expressed belief that America could see a similar result in November.
“Political changes in Europe can have a significant impact on America as well,” Dr. Nile Gardiner, director of conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom, told Fox News. “You look at the Brexit vote in 2016, in the UK ahead of, you know, Donald Trump’s election victory that year. What happens in Europe does matter in America as well, because at the end of the day, European and American electorates are not vastly different in terms of what they care about. They overwhelmingly do not like, you know, the radical, you know, green agenda. And they don’t like, you know, wokeism and the left’s attempt to subvert Western culture and civilization.”
Matt Mowers, a founding board member of the EU-US Forum and former member of President Trump’s administration, told Fox News, “Europeans are tired of the status quo at the EU. Voters have sent a decisive message to the globalist elites in Brussels: Europeans do not want the far-Left agenda pushed on them for decades. Change is coming.”
