Trump-hating Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) slammed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg over the political prosecution of his party’s presumptive 2024 presidential nominee.
The Soros-backed New York City prosecutor’s Soviet-like show trial of former President Donald J. Trump was so obscene and un-American that even Romney has seen fit to condemn it, which speaks volumes.
In a Saturday statement, the failed 2012 GOP presidential candidate slammed Bragg for what he called “political malpractice” for even bringing the case against Trump.
“Bragg should have settled the case against Trump, as would have been the normal procedure. But he made a political decision,” Romney said in a statement shared by his biographer McKay Coppins.

“Bragg may have won the battle, for now, but he may have lost the political war,” the man behind the nondescript Pierre Delecto social media account added. “Democrats think they can put out the Trump fire with oxygen. It’s political malpractice.”
Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts in Bragg’s concocted case which was aided by seemingly rabid partisan Judge Juan Merchan – who may hate the former president more than Romney – as well as a jury plucked by a poison pool in a city where Trump is thoroughly despised by the vast majority of voters in the Democrat-dominated metropolis.
“In Manhattan, we follow the facts without fear or favor and have a solemn responsibility to ensure equal justice under the law regardless of the background, wealth, or power of the accused. The integrity of our judicial system depends on upholding that principle, crowed Bragg in a statement after the guilty verdict was announced.
“Jurors perform a fundamental civic duty. Their service is the corner of our justice system.” – D.A. Bragg.

Of course, since it is Romney, one thing that he could be dismayed about is the potential for the verdict to severely backfire by turning even more voters to Trump who could soon be elevated to the status of a martyr figure, if it hasn’t already happened.
The gross miscarriage of justice perpetrated upon the unjustly convicted Trump has already resulted in a $53 million fundraising haul in the initial days after Bragg’s public lynching.

“I think everybody has made their own assessment of President Trump’s character,” Romney told CNN during the trial. “And so far as I know, you don’t pay someone $130,000 not to have sex with you.”
Romney also blasted his fellow Republicans who showed up outside of the courthouse where Bragg was conducting his sham trial.
“I think it’s a little demeaning to show up in front of a courthouse, and particularly one where we’re talking about an allegation of paying a porn star. It’s really, really very difficult to watch,” he huffed. “There’s a level of dignity and decorum that you expect the people who are running for the highest station in the land, and going out and prostrating themselves in front of the public to try and, apparently, curry favor with the person who’s our nominee is embarrassing.”
