Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) pointed out just recently that President Joe Biden has had a weak appearance around the globe and has continued to fuel various wars that have broken out since he took office, as reported by the Washington Examiner.
He also clarified just recently in an interview, according to The Hill, that in Biden’s State of the Union address back in March he was “trying to gloss over all of his failures.”
Assuring that the president spent more than two years not providing the weapons that Ukraine needed to fight Russia, Cotton criticized Biden’s decisions pertaining to the war between the two closely related nations.
This is in light of the fact that Biden recently apologized to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the delay of U.S. support to Ukraine, blaming resistance from Republican lawmakers for the uncertainty of its deliverability.
Cotton, though, argued that Biden is the only one to blame for this failure.
Leading up to Biden’s State of The Union address in March, Johnson said, “The State of the Union address will offer the American people an opportunity to hear directly from the president – a rare occurrence during his tenure in office,” he went on to say “In just three years, President Biden’s policies have rapidly accelerated American decline on every issue from the economy to national security and foreign policy. The American people don’t need empty words on a page for a reset. We need better policies and a real leader,” as reported by Fox News.
“Joe Biden is trying to gloss over all of his failures… making American families spend more on everything from food, to gas, to rent and mortgage payments,” Cotton said more recently in an interview after Biden’s SOTU, according to The Hill.
Listening to Biden’s State of The Union address, you would think that “everything is peachy keen in America,” he added.
Even House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), who sat behind Biden during his speech, also voiced his disagreement with the speech stating, “People are saying that I made funny facial expressions. I tried to keep a poker face, but it was very difficult. I disagreed so vehemently with so much of what he said, and I think the people back home did as well,”
Continuing, “There’s a lot of memes, I guess, going around tonight about my facial expressions. I did not like the speech, I don’t think the American people liked it, and there wasn’t much I could do about that. I guess I didn’t hide that very well,” Johnson told Sean Hannity.
Cotton also has criticized Biden’s response to the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, arguing that the president has appealed to Democrat supporters of his who support Hamas. He argued that had the United States backed Israel “to the hilt” since the Oct. 7th attack, the war in Gaza would likely already be over.
For these reasons Cotton also cited the need to have former President Donald J. Trump back in office if Americans want “peace and stability” worldwide. Cotton is one of several candidates rumored to be on Trump’s vice presidential list.
When asked about this possibility of becoming vice presidential, Cotton stated that he is confident Trump will choose his vice president when he is ready, and that he will make a good choice.
Not too long ago, Cotton also stated, “[W]e need to make sure that we all get out… vote in November and elect not just Donald Trump to the White House, but elect a Republican Senate and a Republican House”
A recent report stated that Trump has sent out “vetting materials” to several vice presidential candidates, including Govs. Doug Burgum (R-ND), Kristi Noem (R-SD), Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Tim Scott (R-SC), J.D. Vance (R-OH) Reps. Byron Donalds (R-FL), Elise Stefanik (R-NY), and Dr. Ben Carson former Trump administration official.
