Former President Donald Trump promised to “make New York City great again” during a rally Thursday in the South Bronx, one of the most pro-Democrat and non-white jurisdictions in the U.S.
To his credit, the turnout greatly surpassed expectations.
The crowd at the South Bronx’s Crotona Park reportedly went beyond the 3,500 who were expected, with thousands showing up to see the president. According to Fox News, estimates suggest the crowd reached as high as 25,000 people.
Among the crowd were a large number of blacks and Hispanics — two minority groups that President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats have been accused of taking for granted.

“I’m here tonight to declare we are going to turn New York City around, and we are going to turn it around very, very quickly,” the former president said as he took the stage at Crotona Park. “We are going to make New York bigger, better and greater than ever before.”
“Sadly, this is a city in decline. I’ve never seen it like this. We have filthy encampments of drugged-out homeless people living in our places where we spent so much time with our children that they used to play, lunatics killing innocent bystanders by pushing them on the railroad tracks,” he added.
To address these problems, he vowed to bring safety and prosperity back to the city.
“We are going to turn New York City around,” he said. “We’re going to bring safety back to our streets. We’re going to bring success back to our schools. We’re going to bring prosperity back to every neighborhood in every borough of the greatest city of our land.”
“We’re going to make New York bigger, better and more beautiful than ever before, and that includes right here in the Bronx and it’s going to be done and funded, starting on Jan. 20, directly from our great and beautiful White House,” he continued.
Trump proceeded to blame NYC’s squalor on President Biden.
“Joe Biden is not getting the job done for the Bronx and not getting the job done for New York,” he said. “Our subways are squalid and unsafe, the ceiling tiles are falling down, and they look worse than a Third World country. The medians of our highways are crumbling, our sidewalks are littered with garbage bottles and trash.”
“But worst of all are the discarded needles from people that so desperately are in need of help. And we have mobs of migrants fighting our police officers and giving America the middle finger, but we are not going to let this continue. Joe Biden is the worst president in the history of our country. He has no sense – doesn’t know what he’s doing, is grossly incompetent,” he added.
True.
During the rally, Trump brought out local rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow to speak to the crowd. The former president was bedazzled by their mouth jewelry, also known as grills, and mentioned wanting to get one for himself.
“I like those teeth,” he said. “I want to find out where you did that. I go to get my teeth like that. I want that to happen to me.”
Watch:
Also welcomed on stage was Blexit activist Madeline Brame, a black woman who slammed Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (“AOC”), the district’s congressional representative, for lying and claiming Trump had bussed in supporters to the rally.
“Get rid of AOC — vote her a– out,” she said. “I have nothing to lose so I can stand up here and say this. None of you here are paid to be here. [AOC] got on cable TV this morning and said that Trump bussed in these people and paid everyone out here. Who here got paid to be here today?”
“All of you are here because you know that this is the time in history that you are in the right place at the right time and you need to be here today,” she added.
Listen:
Speaking of Ocasio-Cortez, she held a counter-rally that barely anybody attended, as seen here.
By speaking in the Bronx, Trump became the first presidential nominee to campaign there since the late former President Ronald Reagan spoke there over 40 years ago.
Speaking with the Daily Mail, Bronx resident Muhammad Ali, 50, later revealed he used to think Trump was racist but then wised up.
“We need a patriotic president at the moment and I find Donald Trump more patriotic for the moment than Joe Biden,” he asserted.
