Joe Biden’s decision to open the border is having tragic consequences for the country.
The dark side of the border crisis is coming to light.
And Ron DeSantis revealed the terrible truth about this sick crime problem under Joe Biden.
Ron DeSantis signs anti-human trafficking law
Human trafficking is a problem that has exploded under President Joe Biden.
The Biden border crisis has been a goldmine for the Mexican drug cartels and other human smugglers who move illegal aliens into the country.
Many of the biggest cartels have seen their profits from human smuggling outpace drug trafficking.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed another round of measures into law designed to combat human trafficking in the Sunshine State.
House Bill 7063 works to improve cooperation between state and local law enforcement in fighting human trafficking.
The new law will also require that federal and state human trafficking hotline numbers be placed in establishments that are known to be hotspots for it like massage parlors, strip clubs, rest stops, and emergency rooms.
Businesses that have contracts with Florida would provide assurances that they are not using forced labor under the law.
It also banned anyone under the age of 21 from working in a strip club or adult establishment and enhanced the criminal penalties for those businesses employing minors.
Ron DeSantis talks about efforts to combat human trafficking
DeSantis had already signed bills last month designed to improve the state’s ability to combat human trafficking.
He stressed that this is a priority for his administration.
“This is a big, big problem in the United States and it’s a problem that we’ve been working to tackle in Florida and are continuing today,” DeSantis said.
The Florida Governor said that the state was being proactive to stop the problem.
“The Legislature has over the years I’ve been governor, worked with us to combat human trafficking, and this is a really serious scourge in our society, and because we’re a state that’s a destination state…unfortunately that attracts human trafficking,” DeSantis added.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody (R) said that the Sunshine State was one of the only states to have its own dedicated human trafficking hotline.
“The National Human Trafficking Hotline is run by an organization that has been taken over by a Columbia, Stanford educated, self-described social justice warrior who believes it is no longer necessary for the national human trafficking hotline to report cases directly to law enforcement in Florida,” Moody explained.
DeSantis pointed out that the national hotline has received more than 50,000 calls since 2019 and that the average age of trafficking victims is 13.
“80% of those trafficked are girls, and of those girls, 80% are subjected to sexual exploitation,” DeSantis said. “We know that that is unacceptable, and we need to continue to work hard and today we’re doing even more to uphold the law, and to go after those who are trafficking these children.”
He noted that the death penalty in Florida was expanded to include child predators.
Ron DeSantis is stepping up to fight the human trafficking crisis that the Biden border crisis created.
