A recent widower was found dead in North Carolina this week, and a woman has been charged with concealing his death and spending his money after he died.
The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office said they are awaiting a medical examiner’s ruling on cause and manner of the death of Bobby Barnes, 60, WITN reported.
Barnes was reported missing on Monday to the Farmville Police Department, which said he had been last seen on May 9. His body was found Wednesday when deputies were called to a mobile home on US 258 in Pitt County.
Deputies took Kristy Gray into custody, charging her with concealing a death, larceny of a motor vehicle, and financial card theft.
She’s being held on a $200,000 bond.
