Comedian Rosie O’Donnell made a notable appearance on a TikTok live stream hosted by Michael Cohen, the former attorney of Donald Trump.
O’Donnell provided a supportive “pep talk” to Cohen during the interaction amidst his involvement in Trump’s legal battles.
The Post Millennial reported that O’Donnell’s encouragement to Cohen was straightforward, advising him “to not listen to all of this negative MAGA Sh*t” directed at him.”
She also commended Cohen for what she described as “a full turnaround in terms of telling the truth.”
Cohen, known for his nightly live streams on TikTok lasting about an hour, has been utilizing the platform to foster a supportive community and address his struggles with sleep, as reported by CNN.
Cohen stated during one of his streams, “Trumpism is fascism, and we must eradicate it from our body politic.”
He appeared in another video wearing a shirt depicting Trump in jail.
CNN noted that Cohen has hinted at a potential future in politics, mentioning on TikTok that he might consider running for office.
The outlet added that Cohen’s TikTok content initially predominantly focused on criticizing Trump.
He has since toned down his remarks about the former president, considering that much of his commentary has been used against him in court proceedings.
Cohen faced intense scrutiny regarding his remarks on TikTok during the cross-examination in the trial, where, for example, he referred to Trump as a “dictator douchebag.”
Judge Merchan refrained from issuing a gag order against him, however, despite Cohen’s continued commentary on the case and Trump.
This decision stands in stark contrast to Trump’s situation, as he has been subjected to a gag order preventing him from discussing the case publicly.
Merchan did instruct prosecutors to advise Cohen to refrain from making further public statements about the case and Trump though.
Trump has previously voiced his dissatisfaction with what he perceives as a double standard, highlighting the absence of a gag order for Cohen while he himself is restricted from speaking publicly about the case.
“There is no gag order for Michael Cohen. What the judge did was amazing, actually. Everybody can say whatever they want, but I’m not allowed to say anything about anybody. It’s a disgrace,” Trump exclaimed to reporters outside the courtroom last week.
Merchan fined the former president for violating his gag order Monday, threatening that Trump could be jailed if the violations continue.
The gag order restricts Trump from speaking about witnesses, members of the jury, some court staffers, and members of Merchan’s family.
Prosecutors have asked Merchan to avoid jailing the former president, however, the judge said that the fines “are not serving as a deterrent.”
Monday also saw Cohen’s first day of testimony, Resist the Mainstream reported.
Cohen alleged during his testimony that he used his personal finances to settle with adult film actress Stormy Daniels, paying her $130,000 to silence her allegations of an affair with the former president.
Prosecutors have attempted to prove that Cohen’s payment to Daniels was later reimbursed by the Trump Organization and falsely recorded as legal expenses.
Cohen also revealed that he secretly recorded Trump in 2016 in regards to another payment to a former Playboy model who also claimed to have had an affair with Trump in 2006.
