Mexican authorities discovered at least 12 bodies in the port of Acapulco, Mexico on Tuesday, the result of a series of bloody events which began on Monday and culminated with a massacre leaving several bodies in the street. Three women were among the dozen casualties.
The bloodiest event occurred at 10:30 p.m. when residents of the Carabali neighborhood told authorities that armed men left dead bodies on Diego Hurtado Avenue in Mendoza.
Reports indicate that armed members of the Mexican National Guard came and discovered the bodies of six people—four men and two women—lay piled up on the street. The soldiers requested additional support from local police to carry out the investigations, according the EFE news agency.
