As I am sure most of you know by now, the president of Iran, a man known as the “Butcher of Tehran,” died this week in a helicopter accident.
On Monday, the United Nations had the audacity to hold a moment of silence for this terrorist.
I am appalled to report that during that moment of silence, our UN ambassador participated in the “honor” paid to Ebrahim Raisi.
Disgusting
Russia, China, and Algeria had requested a moment of silence for the dead terrorist, with virtually the entire chamber standing solemnly, heads bowed, in honor of this despicable man.
This included United States Deputy Ambassador to the U.N. Robert Wood.
Israeli U.N. Ambassador Gilad Erdan was livid, calling the salute to “mass murdering” Raisi a “disgrace.”
As if that is not bad enough, a formal statement came from the State Department offering condolences on his death.
State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller stated, “As Iran selects a new president, we reaffirm our support for the Iranian people and their struggle for human rights and fundamental freedoms.”
Gerard Filitti, senior counsel with the Lawfare Project, was baffled, stating, “He’s been responsible for the incarceration, torture, rape and murder of tens of thousands of people over the last few decades.
“Raisi is not a man who will be missed.
“While it is understandable for the State Department to issue condolences when there is the death of a foreign head of state, it’s baffling that someone who has such an atrocious record of violating human rights, supporting global terrorism, targeting the United States and allies, is someone who is receiving this outpouring of condolences, effectively from the United States government.”
Iran is a country that has backed terror attacks against our nation and against our allies, yet here is our government offering condolences on the man’s death.
I cannot help but wonder if Biden sent a flower arrangement, and I am not even kidding.
Here was the interaction with State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller when questioned by the media on this…
First, notice the cockiness of Miller as he answered the questions, as though they are above everyone else.
Second, saying they regret all loss of life is a complete and utter joke. This is not someone that we should be regretting at all that he is dead… the world became a better place when his helicopter crashed.
Our UN Ambassador might as well have walked up to Israel and spit in their face, not to mention all of our Gold Star families that have lost a loved one due to Iran and the terror organization it supports.
