Joe Biden wants to force his sweeping plans for electric vehicles on the country.
He has expanded his electrification plans beyond just personal transportation.
Now Florida is trying to stop this terrible electric vehicle scheme by Joe Biden dead in its tracks.
Joe Biden is trying to force the trucking industry to go electric
President Joe Biden is trying to take any vehicle off the road that produces tailpipe emissions.
Most of the attention of his electric vehicle agenda has been on cars, SUVs, and pick-up trucks but he is moving well beyond that.
Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a rule that would move towards eliminating diesel-powered semi-trucks and buses.
It would create a de facto electric vehicle mandate for the trucking industry.
Trucking is the backbone of the nation’s logistic industry that moves goods all around the country from producers into stores.
Forcing semi-trucks to switch to electric would drive up the cost of every product sold in stores.
Electric semis are far more expensive, and their massive batteries would take an inordinate amount of time to charge, slowing down the transportation of goods.
Currently, there are about 5,000 charging stations for electric semi-trucks in the country.
The infrastructure is not even close to being ready to begin making this switch.
Biden’s EPA admitted that trucking is vital for the country, but the industry was accused of being the largest greenhouse gas emitter.
“Trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles are vital to the United States economy, transporting goods and freight and providing services for industry, transit, and other sectors,” the EPA wrote in a statement announcing the rule. “At the same time, heavy-duty vehicles account for 25 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector, which is itself the single largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States.”
A coalition of Republican states file a lawsuit against Biden’s EPA over electric trucks
Biden’s EPA rule would destroy the trucking industry and send inflation through the roof.
Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers and 24 other Republican states filed a lawsuit against the EPA to stop it.
The lawsuit says that the rule exceeds the EPA’s regulatory authority.
“This effort — coming at a time of heightened inflation and with an already-strained electrical grid — will devastate the trucking and logistics industry, raise prices for customers, and impact untold number of jobs across Nebraska and the country,” Hilgers told Just the News in a statement.
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming joined Nebraska in the lawsuit.
On top of this, California is trying to institute its own electric semi-truck rule that would ripple far outside the state.
California is one of the top destinations for goods shipped from Asia which would force most trucking companies in the country to comply to do business in the state.
Semi-trucks have become the next major battle in the fight against Biden’s electric vehicle agenda.
