At a campaign rally this Saturday in New Jersey, former President Donald Trump called on Joe Biden to return campaign donations from the funders of the pro-Hamas campus protests.
He issued the call after effectively blaming the president for the ongoing protests, arguing that the president is tolerating them instead of taking action and putting a halt to them.
Listen:
“Crooked Joe surrendered to the terrorists just like he surrendered to the Taliban, and now he’s surrendering our college campuses to anarchists, jihadists, freaks, and anti-American extremists who are trying to tear down our American flag,” Trump began.
“They want to tear down every single place they go. They want to rip down our flag. The chaos and violence happening on our college campuses right now is all because Crooked Joe Biden doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing,” he added.
Switching gears, Trump then noted to his audience that “[t]he very same people who are funding the violent campus uprisings are also funding Joe Biden’s campaign.”
Fact-check: TRUE.

The former president concluded his remarks by officially calling on the current president to return the donations.
“Tonight, I’m officially calling on Joe Biden and the Democrat National Committee to return the donations of all anti-Semites, American-haters, and financiers of chaos who have funded the chaos on our campuses,” he said. “Return the money, Joe.”
Trump’s request came days after Politico, a mainstream outlet, reported that “some of the groups behind the” ongoing campus protests “receive financial backing from philanthropists pushing hard for his reelection,” and that these backers include “Soros, Rockefeller and Pritzker.”
“Two of the organizers supporting the protests at Columbia University and on other campuses are Jewish Voice for Peace and IfNotNow,” the report read.
“Both are supported by the Tides Foundation, which is seeded by Democratic megadonor George Soros and was previously supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It in turn supports numerous small nonprofits that work for social change,” it continued.
The report from Politico triggered backlash, but not backlash at Biden so much as backlash at Politico for acting “surprised” about its otherwise obvious findings.
“Completely seriously: fire every single person that OK’d the word ‘surprisingly’ here,” one critic tweeted. “I don’t think even toddlers or neophytes are ‘surprised’ that the donors to a man doing everything in his power to coddle terrorists and their American supporters are giving money to said supporters.”

Surprising? Not really, think a lot of people already figured it out before ya’ll.

Only you people are surprised, the rest of us knew this long ago but then it was a “conspiracy theory”.

Only Politico is surprised and the only reason you’re surprised is that you have to pretend to be.

Can I let Politico in on a little secret??? It’s only surprising to you. Everyone else figured it out as soon as it started.

All this comes as some of the protests are beginning to peter out as universities finally call on the police to clear out protesters.
For example, the police reportedly broke up a protest at the University of Pennsylvania on Friday morning and subsequently arrested nearly three dozen protesters.
“We could not allow further disruption of our academic mission,” J. Larry Jameson, interim president, John Jackson, provost, and Craig Carnaroli, senior executive vice president, said in a joint statement, according to CNN.
“We could not allow students to be prevented from accessing study spaces and resources, attending final exams, or participating in Commencement ceremonies,” they added.

Something similar happened at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology this Friday morning.
“Demonstrators chanted ‘Free Palestine’ as police took apart the encampment on the Cambridge, Massachusetts, campus Friday,” CNN reported.
