The Left claim they want people to speak their truth.
But not if that truth conflicts with their “woke” worldview.
And a devout Catholic Super Bowl champion triggered a jaw-dropping reaction from the Left after one speech.
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker kicked (no pun intended) a hornet’s nest during a commencement speech at Benedictine College.
Normally, it would not be controversial for a Catholic to give a speech at a Catholic university.
However, Butker violated some of the core tenets of the Left, and they are furious.
During part of the speech, Butker said, “Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally. He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and Pro-Abortion. He is not alone.”
That alone was enough to rile the Left, so much so that they started a change.org campaign to get him removed from the Chiefs.
The campaign: “Demand the Kansas City Chiefs to Dismiss Harrison Butker for Discriminatory Remarks,” currently has over 155,000 signatures.
The campaign read, “The harmful remarks made by Harrison Butker, kicker of the Kansas City Chiefs, during his commencement address at Benedictine College were unacceptable. His comments were sexist, homophobic, anti-trans, Pro-Life and racist. These dehumanizing remarks against LGBTQ+ individuals, attacks on abortion rights and racial discrimination perpetuate division and undermine human rights.”
Because leftism is one giant blob, the activists just threw all of the buzzwords into the pot; his speech did not touch on race at all.
The petition continued, “These comments reinforce harmful stereotypes that threaten social progress. They create a toxic environment that hinders our collective efforts towards equality, diversity and inclusion in society. It is unacceptable for such a public figure to use their platform to foster harm rather than unity.”
This is the only thing the Left care about.
If their “woke” religion of Progressivism is transgressed, they immediately spring into action.
Political commentator Greg Price pointed out that pretty much everything is fair game for the Left, including actual crimes.
Price wrote, “You think of all the horrible things current NFL players have done — Tyreek Hill beating his kids, DeShaun Watson, the various deadbeat Dads. But it’s the Catholic guy telling women that families are more important than careers where people draw the line.”
There’s currently a petition on https://t.co/PIR4blNFRj calling for the Chiefs to release Harrison Butker for his commencement speech.

Price is correct.
The Left are perfectly fine with criminals; in fact, criminals are an important part of the coalition so long as they have not violated the intersectional hierarchy in any way.
This is not the first time Butker has spoken out, but the current heat caused the NFL to run for cover.
NFL Senior Vice President Jonathan Beane said, “Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity. His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. . .The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”
Butker is clearly over the target because he is catching a lot of flak.
