The NYPD is actively searching for 39-year-old Kashaan Parks, the suspected perpetrator of a brutal sexual assault that occurred in the Bronx earlier this month.
A disturbing video circulating widely across the internet shows the victim, a 45-year-old woman, walking on the sidewalk at East 152nd Street and Third Avenue.
The suspect, his face obscured by a white towel, approaches her from behind and brandishes a belt, which he wraps around the woman’s neck.
He then forces her to the ground, maintaining his grip until she loses consciousness, and proceeds to drag her between two parked cars where he sexually assaults her.

The suspect fled on foot after the assault in the direction of Melrose Avenue, according to FOX 5. The victim was taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.
The incident adds to concerns about sexual violence in the city, as recent NYPD statistics show a 5.1 percent increase in reported rapes this year, per the outlet.
There have been a total of 511 reported rapes in the city as of May 5, it added.
The chilling video has made its rounds on social media, sparking outrage from users who have dubbed New York unsafe and flooded with criminals.
Users are also using the platform to help the NYPD catch Parks.
“NYPD have identified Kashaan Parks as the suspect who allegedly used his belt to choke and knock out a woman before sexually assaulting her,” Mario Nawfal wrote on X.
“Parks, 39, has five prior arrests,” he added. “Authorities are actively searching for him.”
“The police can be seen holding back a bunch of citizens who want to take justice into their own,” wrote Christopher Skelly. “Let the streets handle this one.”
Resist the Mainstream reported on beloved character actor Steve Buscemi who was assaulted in broad daylight in New York City’s Kips Bay neighborhood on Sunday.
The attack occurred as the 66-year-old Brooklyn native was walking through the area.
Buscemi experienced swelling to his face and left eye and required medical attention at Bellevue Hospital.
Shocking surveillance also captured the moment a grandmother was viciously assaulted in a brazen daylight attack in the Bronx last month, leaving her severely injured and enduring ongoing trauma.
The New York Post, known for its creative use of euphemisms to describe black criminals, described the perpetrator as a “bully” in its description of him.
The victim’s ordeal underscores a pattern of assaults on women, predominantly observed in Lower Manhattan.
Martha Veloz, 54, visiting from New Jersey, was ambushed as she walked near East 167th Street and Jerome Avenue in Highbridge.
The assailant struck Veloz without warning, knocking her unconscious.
Veloz’s daughter recounted the harrowing incident in vivid detail during a phone interview with the Post.
“She said she was walking down the hill… [when] a man just came randomly and hit her in the head with something,” she described.
“He hit her in the head and then he pushed her down to the ground,” the daughter added. “She passed out for a minute and she thought everything was black.”
