A California man has been charged with transmitting interstate threats toward Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis during a YouTube livestream video last October.
Marc Shultz, of Chula Vista, California, was officially indicted for leaving comments on the YouTube livestream which read “Fani will be killed like a dog,” and “Fani Willis will be dead in 2024.”
Willis was catapulted to national prominence after charging former President Donald Trump and his allies with conspiring to overturn the 2020 election.
Since then she has earned some well-deserved notoriety, considering the clear political bias of the indictment, but with that deserved criticism comes death threats which are simultaneously meaningless and gross.
Shultz appeared before a judge in San Diego on Thursday and was released on bail. Willis claims that she has received thousands of death threats and verbal attacks but there has been little legal action.
Unfortunately for Shultz, he was identified and will now be made an example of. Threatening political figures is already illegal but doubly so if that politician is a prominent Democrat.
