Mario Nawfal hosted an X space over the weekend that featured a lineup of prominent voices including Nick Fuentes, Alex Jones, Destiny, Sneako, Andrew Tate and more.
The conversation began with Nawfal welcoming Fuentes back to the platform after Elon Musk reinstated his account late last week, Resist The Mainstream reported.
The X space quickly delved into topics of internet censorship and Elon Musk’s ongoing battle with Supreme Court Justice Alexandre De Moraes, who has targeted the billionaire with an investigation regarding the spread of fake news.
“Thank you for having me, it’s good to be here on my real account,” Fuentes said.
Nawfal applauded Fuentes at the conversation’s onset for his massive influence despite being blacklisted from prominent social media platforms in recent years.
Nawfal added that though he does not agree with many of Fuentes’ past statements and arguments, he still views his input on various topics, especially regarding internet censorship, as important.
“There’s not that many banned people left who have that kind of influence,” Nawfal stated.
The host then probed Fuentes on why he came to speak on the space knowing that he is going to pressed by “a lot of panelists” who “strongly disagree with you.”
“I like discussion,” Fuentes responded, adding that many users believe he was relegated to “the shadows” upon his bans, but that he is no longer “simmering in the dark.”
“I am trying to be in the sunlight,” Fuentes continued.
“I am not trying to hide anything,” he said, adding that he has “always wanted to participate in the conversation.”
Nawfal further inquired about Fuentes swiftly joining X upon being reinstated despite his alternative platforms, which has garnered an impressive following over the years.
“I think it’s best when people go back and forth,” Fuentes explained, admitting that “a monologue would be safer for me.”
Fuentes then emphasized how big tech platforms like TikTok and YouTube have created their own narrative for who the host is, citing the two sites presenting a curated list of results whenever his name is searched.
I’m the “most heavily censored person,” Fuentes proclaimed.
InfoWars’ Alex Jones weighed in on this part of the conversation, lamenting that internet censorship is running amok because “the power structure has lost control of the people’s mind” and is in “complete panic mode trying to destroy anyone” with influence.
“The social contract has been broken,” Jones explained, adding that “Only Elon Musk is putting his money where his mouth is.”
Andrew Tate would later echo these statements, saying internet censorship is simply a “battle for influence.”
Resist The Mainstream reported on Thursday that Elon Musk announced his plans to unban Fuentes from X.
This came just a day after the House passed what many believe to be an anti-free speech bill that aims to criminalize various actions that are deemed “antisemitic,” including speech matters such as making claims that the Jews killed Jesus.
“Very well, he will be reinstated, provided he does not violate the law, and let him be crushed by the comments and Community Notes,” Musk said as he commented on a post by the @DefiantLs X page. “It is better to have anti whatever out in the open to be rebutted than grow simmering in the darkness.”
