Several leaders of the anti-Israel protests on college campuses nationwide have been identified as paid fellows of groups connected to George Soros.
The New York Post reports that three prominent figures in the pro-Palestine movements at universities hold fellowships at the Soros-funded US Campaign for Palestinian Rights.
The organization’s guidance encourages fellows to “rise up” and ignite “revolution,” while explicitly advising them to reject “reform.” It has notably received at least $300,000 from Soros’ Open Society Foundations.
Fellows affiliated with USCPR are compensated for their efforts, with “community-based” fellows receiving up to $7,800 for their work.
“Campus-based” fellows are compensated anywhere between $2,880 and $3,660 for dedicating eight hours weekly to organizing campaigns led by Palestinian organizations.
The Daily Mail reports that one of the prominent figures includes Nidaa Lafi, a former president of the University of Texas Students for Justice in Palestine, who was observed on Wednesday delivering a speech at the campus encampment.
She made headlines earlier when she was detained in January for obstructing President Joe Biden’s motorcade route in Dallas during the funeral of late Democratic congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, Lafi’s former boss.
USCPR fellow Craig Birckhead-Morton was arrested at Yale University after participating in the occupation of Beinecke Plaza on Monday.
Birckhead-Morton had previously served as an intern for Democratic Maryland Representative John Sarbanes, the outlet highlights.
Malak Afaneh, co-president of the Berkeley Law Students for Justice in Palestine, has been actively involved in pro-Palestine protests on campus and has been addressing demonstrators this week.
Afaneh gained attention earlier this month when she was among the students who transformed a dinner with the law school’s dean into an anti-Israel demonstration.
X users swiftly blasted Soros following the report, drawing attention to the numerous examples of protestors and left-wing causes he’s funded across the nation.
Insurrection Barbie wrote, “George Soros has been funded every radical, destructive, destabilizing movement in America. He funds the open borders, he funds all of these violent and divisive protests from BLM/ANTIFA to the pro-Hamas terror crew.”
“He has funded every radical Marxist DA and judge that has turned our system of jurisprudence upside down,” the account continued. “Why is he not being investigated in every state with a Republican AG and a Republican controlled House of Representatives?”
House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik questioned why no one seems to do anything about Soros’ involvement in “buying elections for radical Far Left politicians and corrupting the next generation to support terror groups.”
American Islandman asked, “Why hasn’t George Soros been investigated, arrested and deported for the bulls**it he doing in this country?”
Tensions are on the rise at Columbia University, where hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters are calling for the institution to divest from companies associated with Israel.
The “Gaza Solidarity Encampment,” led by a coalition of 116 groups under the umbrella organization Columbia University Apartheid Divest, has witnessed over 100 demonstrators being arrested thus far, The Mail reports.
