Anti-Israel protestors experienced an unexpected moment of solidarity with adversarial counterprotestors on Thursday when both joined together in a chant condemning the current President of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden.
During demonstrations at the University of Alabama—which, by appearances, seemed more peaceful than other such demonstrations across the country—both sides appeared to find agreement in their disapprobation for the current occupant of the Oval Office. In a video shared on X, the two sides appear to go back and forth with a chant of “F*ck Joe Biden,” an unexpected moment of consensus between the two bitterly opposed sides.

Oppsoing groups spent the entire day with dueling chants.
Until someone started yelling F Joe Biden.

The moment of solidarity seems to underscore an unusual political dynamic in the 2024 Presidential election as it relates to the war in the Levant. In almost every respect, Biden has faced criticism from both Zionist and anti-Zionist Democrats, both of whom perceive the Commander in Chief to be insufficiently —while, paradoxically, former President and current Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump is perhaps seen as both more pro-Israel and more pro-Palestine and has emerged as the political beneficiary of Democratic fracturing on the issue.
Trump was outspoken recently in his criticisms of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the war—yet the former President’s remarks appear to have done little to diminish his support from the American Jewish community.
Trump criticizing Netanyahu for October 7th, might be the funniest thing to ever happen.
Now the pro-Israel crowd are upset because Trump is calling out Israel.
AND the pro-Palestine crowd are upset, because now they are forced to agree with Trump.

At the same time, Trump’s actions on behalf of Israel, such as moving the U.S. embassy in Israel to the Jewish state’s preferred symbolic capital of Jerusalem, have invited the grumbling of anti-Zionist right-wing critics such as Nick Fuentes but have ultimately not challenged support for the forty-fifth President.
The situation could not be more different for President Biden, who has been roundly dragged by both sides for his response to the current war in Gaza.
From the Zionist camp, Biden is seen as insufficiently vigilant against anti-Semitism and Hamas—an attitude exemplified by the colorful actor Michael Rapaport, who has repeatedly insisted that voting for Trump is “on the table” in response to what he perceives as Biden’s weakness in supporting Israel and American Jews.
However, the alienation of pro-Israel Democrats has done little to win over the pro-Palestine camp, who have even organized a campaign to encourage Palestine supporters not to vote for Biden’s re-election in protest of his perceived enabling of Gaza. These efforts are suggested to have a major impact in the swing state of Michigan, which is home to a large Arab-American community, on which Biden likely depends to carry the Rust Belt state.
Hence, it is little wonder that both sides joined in chanting “F*ck Joe Biden” at the University of Alabama—though it is perhaps a little wonder, an amusing moment of unexpected agreement in a bitterly divided scene of American academia at war with itself.
