A baby was found dead on the University of Tampa campus late Sunday night.
Tampa Police said the infant was found near McKay Hall, the school’s Honors Living-Learning Community home, according to WTVT.
Little information was available from police or the school, which sent out an alert to students cautioning them to avoid the area but saying there was no threat to the community.
Police forensic teams were seen in the area near the dorm, one of six on campus designated for freshmen students. First and second year students are required to live on campus.
McKay Hall is on the Hillsborough River near the campus post office and the Southard Family Building, a student resource center.
