Cops fire tear gas as anti-Israel protest at UCLA ramps up
NY Post: Anti-Israel protesters at UCLA pushed out law enforcement officers in riot gear who tried to enter the large encampment at the California institute early Thursday morning.
The pushback comes a day after protests turned violent as brawls broke out between protesting sides and firecrackers were thrown.
Just before 2 a.m. on Thursday police broke through the barricades of the encampment but were quickly outnumbered by the protesters and were forced to retreat, according to ABC 7.
The officers have since positioned themselves on the outskirts of the encampment.
A dispersal order was made at around 6 p.m. Wednesday for all protesters to leave the area, as it was deemed unlawful
All UCLA classes were canceled for Thursday and Friday.
