When Robert F. Kennedy Jr. added Nicole Shanahan to his ticket, it seemed pretty clear what he was doing.
Kennedy was adding far-left and younger voters to his possible voter base with that addition.
To that point, Shanahan just launched a new podcast specifically targeting Gen Z.
Get the Younger Crowd
We have two presidential candidates, neither of whom are attractive to younger voters.
That demographic never sides with Republicans, and Joe Biden is losing support over the Israel-Hamas war.
This has created a significant opening for Kennedy and Shanahan, and they are taking advantage of it.
Kennedy is already polling at about 16% overall, so if his campaign can make a big push with Gen Z, it could put him up into the 20s, which would make him a legitimate threat.
In announcing her new podcast, Shanahan stated, “I’m coming in fresh.
“I have heard the comments that like I’m not getting out there fast enough, and I am moving as fast as I can. People will be seeing much, much more of me in the coming months.”
Shanahan’s podcast, “Back to the People,” debuted on Wednesday with an off-the-cuff discussion between Shanahan and Kennedy.
Moving forward, the podcast will host policy experts and innovators that they believe will draw in Gen Z to their campaign.
Shanahan added, “I will give the occasional stump speech, but my primary focus over the next six months is to be with the people.”
She further explained that this is all part of the plan to explain Kennedy’s politics to the younger generation, stating, “I think that my media strategy, you know, really connects to the demographics that might need extra layers of interpretation to understand what Bobby is saying.”
Kennedy already has a head start, already considered one of the more popular politicians on TikTok, which is dominated by a younger audience.
Democrats and the GOP better be careful and not discount this campaign because all he has done since announcing is improve his polling, especially among younger voters.
