Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) may have been defeated in her effort to oust Speaker of the House Mike Johnson but she’s not backing off with her criticism of the GOP leader.
It was the Democrats who spared Johnson from the same fate as his predecessor Kevin McCarthy who was booted from the speakership last year, unifying to table Greene’s motion to vacate last week.
It was a message from Democrats that they’re perfectly happy with him right where he is, especially after he was supported by former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, something that galls the fiery Georgia congresswoman who ripped Johnson on “Sunday Morning Futures” on Fox News.

During a lengthy interview with Maria Bartiromo, Greene slammed Johnson for refusing to defund Special Counsel Jack Smith’s abusive prosecutions, yet another betrayal.
“Why do you think Mike Johnson won’t defund Jack Smith?” Bartiromo asked.
“Well, Mike Johnson’s owned by the Democrats, and that proved me to be right again,” Greene responded. “When I called the motion to vacate, it wasn’t Republicans that saved Mike Johnson, it was Democrats that saved Mike Johnson.”
“And when you have Nancy Pelosi who was speaker of the House when they impeached President Trump twice and you have Jerry Nadler who was chairman of the Judiciary Committee that led the impeachment against President Trump voting to save Mike Johnson, that tells the American people everything that they need to know,” she said.
“Mike Johnson is owned by the Democrats and refuses to protect President Trump even though he runs down to Mar-a-Lago every chance he gets and hugs him as tightly as possible,” she added, suggesting that Johnson is an insincere rump smoocher when it comes to Trump.
The Louisana Republican’s complete capitulation to the White House and congressional Democrats culminated with his selling out of America on the tens of billions of dollars of taxpayer money that’s been shoveled into the Ukraine money pit – with more likely to come – and his surrender earned him the undying gratitude of the opposition party along with many Republicans looking to get their breaks wet.
Johnson also sang the praises of House Democrat Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) during an appearance on Politico’s Deep Dive podcast after his left-wing friends saved his skin.

Hakeem is a good man. We’ve worked well together. We have a lot more in common than people might think,” Johnson said. “You know, he’s from New York and I’m from Louisiana. While we have lots of disagreements on policies and the fine points of policy, I think you can appreciate people for who they are as a person.”
“I think that’s what we’re called to do,” the conflicted speaker added. “And he and I both kind of share the worldview on that. I can appreciate that he’s a good family man. We have a lot in common in that regard.
“Last week, the Democrats proved me right when they voted to save Mike Johnson as the Uniparty Speaker,” MTG wrote on X, sharing a clip of the Fox News interview. “The Americans who gave us a majority want a GOP who will FIGHT to stop the Democrats’ radical agenda, including Biden’s weaponized DOJ against President Trump.
“Mike Johnson refuses to do that and just keeps handing over everything the Democrats want,” she added. “When Nancy Pelosi supports a “Republican” Speaker, something is very wrong.”
“I couldn’t live with myself if I’d done a deal with Democrats,” McCarthy said of his successor on a recent podcast. “If you can’t sustain being speaker by your own majority, should you sustain it? No.”
