Fetterman is officially JOINING THE GOP.
At least in terms of their stance on lab-grown meat.
If lab-grown meat is in, then you can count Fetterman OUT.
Florida’s Republican Governor, Ron DeSantis, recently signed a bill banning lab-grown meat.
Fetterman is certainly not a fan of DeSantis, and it showed in his announcement, but even Democrat John had to agree that DeSantis was doing the right thing.
Pains me deeply to agree with Crash-and-Burn Ron, but I co-sign this.
As a member of @SenateAgDems and as some dude who would never serve that slop to my kids, I stand with our American ranchers and farmers. 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/zZLYf8t5lI

When he signed the bill, Ron DeSantis claimed that his state was “fighting back against the global elite’s plan to force the world to eat meat grown in a petri dish or bugs to achieve their authoritarian goals. Our administration will continue to focus on investing in our local farmers and ranchers, and we will save our beef.”
Ron means BUSINESS.
The new bill in Florida makes it illegal to “manufacture for sale, sell, hold or offer for sale, or distribute” lab-grown meat in the state.
Despite John Fetterman agreeing with Florida Ron, that does not mean that DeSantis’ decision was popular with everyone.
One person who will certainly be upset about Ron’s decision to sign the bill is Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, who said back in 2021 that people in “rich countries” need to be eating 100% synthetic beef in order to reduce carbon emissions from livestock.
“For Africa and other poor countries, we’ll have to use animal genetics to dramatically raise the amount of beef per emissions for them,” Gates said. “I do think all rich countries should move to 100% synthetic beef. You can get used to the taste difference, and the claim is they’re going to make it taste even better over time. Eventually, that green premium is modest enough that you can sort of change the [behavior of] people or use regulation to totally shift the demand.”
We all know that money talks in America, so it’s surprising that somebody like Bill Gates wasn’t able to get his way on this issue.
Perhaps we’ll just have to wait and see how some other states respond to the issue to see if Bill has really failed.
Would you allow yourself or your family to chow down on some lab-grown meat?
