An investigation is underway after Williston police in North Dakota say they found a body over the weekend while in search of a missing woman
On Sunday at around 1:45 p.m., the Williston Police Department responded to a call regarding an unresponsive person in the 400 block of 11th Avenue West. Officers said the description fits that of Breeanna Ward, 28, who was reported missing on February 28.
Identification is pending.
Meanwhile, a Facebook page dedicated to locating Ward has since changed its profile picture to “Rest in Peace,” with a message asking the public to refrain from speculation.
“Authorities are investigating. We have no further info at this time. Kindly, refrain from rumors and speculation. The best way to help the family is to share memories and/or condolences. Thank you for your ongoing support,” the post said.
The Williston Herald reports that police are currently investigating and will provide an update when available.
“The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this individual’s death is currently ongoing,” police wrote in a statement.
Anyone with information about Ward’s disappearance is urged to call the Williston Police Department at 701-577-1212.
