I can count on one hand how often I agree with Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), but this is one of those times.
McConnell stated that he is ready for the “chaos” in the House to be over with.
I think most of us would actually agree with that statement.
It’s Time
McConnell was asked about the motion to vacate, which will be floored by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
He responded, “I’m relieved as I think all of America is that the chaos in the House will be discontinued.”
McConnell added, “I think it’s a benefit to our country, a benefit to the House, a benefit to the reputation of Congress.”
Greene introduced her motion to vacate several weeks ago, but now she has announced that she will floor the motion and force a vote.
Democrat leadership has already announced that it will not back the motion this time as it did when Rep. Gaetz (R-FL) ousted McCarthy as Speaker.
That is not a ringing endorsement for Johnson, but it just might be enough to save the GOP from losing the House in November, as I am positive another removed Speaker would have guaranteed.
At least now, they can go about their business, even if it is infuriating and not the legislation that we want to see passed.
I would say, however, that I don’t expect Greene to pipe down, and the more she complains about things, the more people say the GOP is incapable of legislating and does not deserve the majority.
Just keep all this in mind if we lose the House and fail to take the Senate in November.
Our own people are sabotaging the majority right now, and if we lose that, the only thing winning the White House will serve to do is block Democrat legislation.
There is just no telling how much damage is being done to the party and more importantly, the conservative movement in this country right now.
