Disney is watching its entertainment empire crumble after going woke.
The House of Mouse did not think that it could get any worse.
And Disney’s CEO discovered going woke was the wrong move after this bad news.
Disney stock takes a big hit after bad earnings report
The bad news keeps piling up for Disney with no end in sight.
A quarterly earnings report sent shockwaves through Wall Street about the direction of the global entertainment conglomerate.
Disney is below the yearly profits it earned from 2015 and 2019.
Wall Street analysts don’t expect the conglomerate to match its record 2018 profit until 2028.
“Disney’s income before taxes totaled $657 million in the second quarter ending March 30, 69% less than the over $2.1 billion that was reported during this same time last year despite increasing revenues by 1% to over $22 billion, according to the company’s earnings report,” the Daily Caller reported.
The bad news sent shares of Disney stock stumbling.
That is why things have not been so magical for CEO Bob Iger since he returned to the conglomerate.
Disney burned its hard-earned reputation for family-friendly entertainment to push a woke political agenda in its content.
And the conglomerate has paid a steep price ever since with a string of box office bombs and streaming series that have flopped with audiences.
The path to turning around Disney is right in front of Iger, but he refuses to abandon the conglomerate’s left-wing political message.
Americans want Disney to ditch wokeness
A poll from Rasmussen Reports found that the overwhelming majority of Americans want Disney to return to the family-friendly entertainment that built it into a powerhouse.
The poll asked respondents if they agreed or disagreed with a simple question.
“Disney should return to wholesome programming and allow parents to decide when their children are taught about sexuality?” Rasmussen asked.
A whopping 71% of those surveyed agreed that Disney should return to its wholesome roots.
And 53% strongly agreed with that question.
The poll also reported that 54% of Americans thought that “many, many, many LGBTQIA characters” were inappropriate for children under the age of 12.
Disney executive Karen Burke boasted in 2022 that “the company has ‘many, many, many LGBTQIA characters in our stories” and they were well received by woke activists.
Americans do not want the woke content that Disney is pushing but the company refuses to stop targeting children with it.
Disney’s foray into the culture wars has turned into the fifth most polarizing brand in the country according to a survey from Axios Harris last year.
“The lesson here is that when you divide you subtract. When you divide audiences, you’re ultimately going to be subtracting customers for your business,” Harris Poll CEO John Gerzema said at the time.
And Disney still has not learned its lesson.
A new Disney+ Star Wars animated series, Tales of the Empire, has a Jedi character who identifies as nonbinary and others who use “they/them” pronouns.
Disney is bound and determined to burn the company to the ground in service of its left-wing political agenda.
