Well, RFK Jr. is now on the wrong side of both parties.
Early polling had suggested that Kennedy would impact Biden’s election hopes more than Trump’s.
More recent polling, however, stated that Trump would be hurt more, which has led to attacks against Kennedy from both sides of the aisle.
Remove Him
Earlier this month, reports surfaced that the Democrat Party was going to go after Kennedy with both barrels to ensure a repeat of 2016 did not happen again.
Among other reasons, Democrats believe that third-party candidates hurt Hillary and handed the election to Donald Trump.
The party took the blame for this, citing its failure to educate voters enough on the third-party candidates, a mistake they were not willing to make this time.
Democrat strategist Antjuan Seawright stated, “There’s no education in the second kick of the mule.
“In 2016, we saw the impact that third-party candidates had on the election. And we also saw potentially a fault line of not educating enough [about] what votes for those candidates could mean long term for the country.
“We’re now feeling the results of the 2016 election in 2024.”
Matt Corridoni, a spokesperson with the Democratic National Committee, added, “There will be a clear choice facing voters this November and the more they learn about RFK Jr, the more they will recognize that a vote for him is a vote for Donald Trump.
“We’re going to make sure he’s playing by the rules and we’re going to make sure voters are educated about his extreme positions and who is propping up his spoiler candidacy.”
We all know how conservatives feel about voter ID laws, so some old papers from Kennedy just happened to be leaked on this subject.
The papers have Kennedy calling such laws “racially rancid.” When you look at that last poll, far more Trump supporters were going to Kennedy than were Biden’s, so this should correct that.
Kennedy called ID laws “a new voter Block-the-Vote trick” as well as claiming this was the latest effort to “steal your vote.”
Kennedy also wrote, “Voter fraud is non-existent… everybody who has ever studied this – non-partisan, bi-partisan groups – [has] said that it is simply not a problem in this country.”
Kennedy has been polling consistently around 15%, so expect these attacks to continue until both sides feel they have properly negated the impact that Kennedy will have against them in this race.
So far, it looks like the GOP has the upper hand.
