Congresswoman Lauren Boebert displayed the shocking images of five late-term aborted babies Thursday during a U.S. House hearing, questioning why unborn babies have fewer legal protections than endangered species.
Boebert, a pro-life Republican from Colorado, brought up abortion during a House Water, Wildlife and Fisheries Subcommittee hearing, according to Salon. The photos she showed appear to be the bodies of five late-term aborted babies whom pro-life leaders with the Progressive Pro-Life Uprising (PAAU) found exactly one year ago in Washington, D.C.
“I do want to say before my opening remarks, you know, since we’re talking about the Endangered Species Act, I’m just wondering if my colleagues on the other side would put babies on the endangered species list,” Boebert said.

Then, she showed lawmakers five photos of nearly full-term aborted babies. Salon, a pro-abortion news outlet, described the babies as appearing to have “birth defects,” but PAAU leaders believe they may have been victims of illegal partial-birth abortions or infanticide at the Washington Surgi-Clinic, a late-term abortion facility.
“These babies were born in Washington, D.C., full term,” Boebert told lawmakers. “I don’t know, maybe that’s a way we can save some children here in the United States.”
Abortions up to birth are legal in Washington, D.C. and several states, including Colorado and New Mexico. The Washington Surgi-Clinic advertises abortions at “27 plus weeks of pregnancy,” which is long past the point when babies are viable outside the womb.
For nearly 50 years under the U.S. Supreme Court ruling Roe v. Wade, more than 63 million unborn babies were aborted across the country. In recent years, nearly 1 million unborn babies were aborted annually.
Now that Roe is gone, 14 states protect unborn babies by banning or strictly limiting abortions, and others are working to do the same. SBA Pro-Life America estimates more than 128,000 babies will be saved every year just because of the laws currently in effect.
