If New York residents are fed up with the burden placed on the area by President Brain-Dead Biden’s open border policies, they have every right to be. A new study revealed that the state’s citizens can expect to cough up almost $10 billion in 2023 to pay the tab for illegal immigration.
The Federation for American Immigration Reform’s March study showed that the Empire State will pay a total of $9.9 billion for Washington’s ineptitude.
That’s the price tag for the assortment of federal, state, and local programs affected by the over one million illegal migrants and asylum seekers who flocked to the state and New York City in particular.
Taxpayers will be on the hook for $4.65 billion for education-related expenses and $3.5 billion for health care and social assistance programs. Another $1.75 billion in expenses will be incurred for immigration-related law enforcement and handling unaccompanied minors.

The national cost for 2023 is expected to surpass $150 billion. That figure is expected to be slightly offset by the estimated $31 billion collected in taxes from illegal migrants.
The organization reported a 30% increase in the national cost of illegal immigration just since 2017. Of course, leftist politicians and their mainstream media allies preach that the flood of illegal migrants is a boon to the U.S. economy.
Apparently, they are not so much of a boon for New York City.
Democratic Mayor Eric Adams in January said that the five boroughs of his city had “no more room.” This declaration came after approximately 40,000 illegal migrants arrived at the doorsteps of the “sanctuary city” in 2022.
The financial coffers are also being strained as negotiations are ongoing between Adams and Gov. Kathy Hochul over the city’s expenses. The two are working on a 50-50 split of the costs incurred by the city in absorbing tens of thousands of illegals.
The cost for NYC alone is estimated to reach more than $4.2 billion this year.
As Rep. Mark Green (R-TN), chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee said, the Biden White House is forcing the tab for illegal immigration on American families.
This course of action is made necessary by the administration’s refusal to enforce laws written to defend this nation’s borders. The borders are instead thrown wide open in hopes of attracting more Democratic voters and securing through immigration what cannot be had at the ballot box.
