A lawsuit initiated by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News has resulted in the possible illegal disclosure of host Tucker Carlson’s personal email and text messages.
The top-rated Fox News host reported that he is very angry about the disclosure but can not speak openly about the details during Dominion’s ongoing defamation lawsuit.
During an interview on WABC Radio, Carlson said: “…those [text messages] were all grabbed completely illegitimately, in my opinion… I’m enraged that my private texts were pulled.”
Dominion Voting Systems is suing Fox News for $1.6 billion, alleging the media giant knowingly propagated false claims made by Trump, who claimed Dominion Voting Systems altered votes and changed the results of the 2020 election.
In one disclosed text, Carlson reportedly said: “I hate [Trump] passionately.”
Carlson reportedly wrote on Jan. 4, 2021: “We are very very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights; I truly can’t wait.”
During the WABC interview, Carlson criticized the release of his personal data and reaffirmed his support for Trump, saying: “Oh, let’s see. I spent four years defending his policies, and I, I’m going to defend them again tonight.”
Carlson continued: “And actually, and I’m pretty straightforward…I love Trump. Like, as a person, I think Trump is funny and insightful.”
Carlson continued: “And I said this to Trump when he called me, you know, all wounded about those texts. That was a moment in time where I was absolutely infuriated.”
The Hill reported, “a judge in Delaware is set to rule on summary judgment ahead of an expected jury trial next month.”
