Reporter Nathan Templeton has tragically died at just age 44, reportedly while walking his dog.
The father-of-two was reportedly found near a river after suffering a medical episode.
Templeton had risen to fame as a reporter at the Olympic games, but had taken a bit of a step back from the limelight in recent years “to deal with personal issues.”
His colleague, Ann Sanders, was tasked with the tough job of telling television viewers that their beloved reporter had passed away:
“Much loved former Sunrise Melbourne reporter Nathan Templeton has tragically died,” she began the emotional segment.
“Templeton, whose career included his incredible coverage of both the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016 and the Tokyo Games in 2021, was an avid Geelong supporter, managing director of Seven Melbourne, a respected journalist.”
“We’re sending our deepest condolences to his family and friends who remember Nathan as an adoring father and a wonderful friend,” she concluded.
