You’re never too old for romance. A media billionaire is the latest example.
Rupert Murdoch confirmed Monday he’s engaged to one-time San Francisco police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith. He turned 92 earlier this month, while she is 66.
Smith said she met the man behind Fox News and the New York Post last September at his Southern California vineyard. Murdoch says he called her to express an interest in a relationship two weeks later.
Smith, who is a widow, noted her former husband worked with newspapers, radio and television stations. Murdoch added the Smiths also had an interest in vineyards.
“We share the same beliefs,” Smith said.

“We’re both looking forward to spending the second half of our lives together,” Murdoch told Post columnist Cindy Adams.
Murdoch added he gave Smith an engagement ring Friday, after personally selecting it. The couple plans to wed during the late summer.

People magazine reports this will be Murdoch’s fifth marriage. His first occurred in 1956, a union with Patricia Booker which lasted 11 years.
Murdoch’s second marriage was his longest. He wed Anna Maria Torv in 1967, but they divorced in1999.
Murdoch wed Wendi Deng from 1999-2013, then joined in marriage to model Jerry Hall in 2016.

He divorced Hall last August, one month before meeting Smith.
“I dreaded falling in love — but I knew this would be my last,” Murdoch told the Post about the upcoming marriage.
