New York City District Attorney Alvin Bragg may be most famous for bringing a trial against America’s former president and guaranteeing a liberal verdict with a corrupt judge in a Democratic hotbed.
Surprisingly, District Attorney Alvin Bragg sometimes does other work as well, and this bit might have been at least somewhat more honorable.
Alvin Bragg is officially charging a New York City postal worker and their partner for stealing thousands of dollars from Americans’ mail.
Destiny Anderson was an employee at the Radio City Post Office when she thought that she came up with the perfect plan. The issue for her is that she was extremely dumb in how she did things, so she got caught
According to a New York news source, Destiny Anderson would steal credit cards and checks from the mail before selling them for a profit.
Her partner, Anthony Johnson, was also in on the action.
“It is always disheartening when the theft of U.S. Mail and identity theft is committed, especially when these alleged crimes are committed by someone that betrays the trust of the American public and blatantly disregards their duty to reliably deliver our customers’ mail,” said United States Postal Inspection Service New York Division Inspector in Charge Daniel Brubaker.
“Through initiatives like Project Safe Delivery, postal inspectors are committed to improving the safety of our employees and the security of the mail.”
The scheme lasted for about a year from Summer 2021 to Spring 2022.
According to pix11.com, “Anderson, a postal service employee, sorted mail and acted as a mail relay between the office and the truck driver transporting bags to locations within the 10019 Manhattan area code. According to court documents, Anderson would allegedly identify and take envelopes that contained credit cards and checks.
One check was stolen for over $387,000, and another for $21,500, authorities said. Court documents allege that Anderson coordinated with Johnson to steal envelopes. Johnson allegedly also encouraged and directed Anderson on which envelopes to take.”
Regardless of how you feel about Bragg, Anderson and Johnson belong in JAIL.
