Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, is taking a stand against those who he claims have violated his privacy by accessing and disseminating information from his laptop. Biden’s legal team has requested an investigation into several individuals close to former President Donald Trump, including Steve Bannon, Rudy Giuliani, Robert Costello, John Paul Mac Isaac, Garrett Ziegler, Jack Maxey, and Yaacov Apelbaum.
The laptop in question was dropped off at a Delaware computer repair shop, owned by John Paul Mac Isaac, in April 2019 and eventually made its way into the hands of the aforementioned individuals. Biden’s lawyers have cited passages from Mac Isaac’s book in which he admitted to reviewing private and sensitive material from the laptop, including a file titled “income.pdf.”
In addition to the request for a criminal investigation, Biden’s attorneys have also written a separate letter to Fox News host Tucker Carlson, demanding a retraction and apology for what they consider to be false and defamatory statements made about Biden on the show.
The calls for justice come as Biden himself is facing a tax evasion investigation by the Justice Department, but his legal team and a source close to Biden consider this new approach to be a response to years of attacks by Republican officials and conservative media. The letters to the Delaware Attorney General, the Department of Justice, the I.R.S, and Fox News and Carlson’s attorneys represent a bold new strategy for Biden and his team as they fight back against false narratives and attempts to defame his character.
“This marks a new approach by Hunter Biden and his team,” the source stated. “He is not going to sit quietly by as questionable characters continue to violate his rights and media organizations peddling in lies try to defame him.”
The laptop saga has been ongoing since October 2020, when a New York Post story detailed emails allegedly found on the device related to Biden’s foreign business dealings. The story was seized upon by Trump and used as a campaign issue during the presidential election, but now Biden and his team are determined to set the record straight and protect his rights.
