‘She says she’s a woman!’ CBS News desperately tries to defend transwoman in YMCA locker room

A few weeks back, a story went viral about a 17-year-old girl who was forced to share a Commie California YMCA locker room with a woman who also happens to have a penis. So as not to offend anyone. Besides the 17-year-old girl. She’ll be fine. Maybe.

Rebecca Phillips, the 17-year-old at the center of this story, went viral after she spoke to City Council about her slight problem with showering with such women who happen to have penises. When she asked the YMCA if this is allowed, management confirmed that, ahem, “beautiful women,” are, in fact, allowed to shower with young girls at the YMCA. Unless they’re a sex offender, of course. That would just be absurd.

CBS tracked down the trans-woman in question, 66-year-old Christynne Lili Wrene Wood, and asked, er, “her” about the controversy. Wood announced plans to speak at an upcoming city council meeting.

Despite apparent threats of violence, Wood, a Navy veteran, explained, “I know how to give an insult out, I know what areas to kick and punch, you know, at least enough to be able to run until I can get to my car and get out of here.”

But the best part of the interview comes later when one of the reporters attempts to explain to his colleague why Wood is in the right. The reporter blabbers, “She says she’s a woman and she really wants to drive home the fact that she transitioned over 5 years ago. And that, you know, she — she’s — she’s a woman & — & she says she’s a woman.”

You can see his gears spinning as he tries to make the 66-year-old woman who happens to have a penis and wants to shower with a 17-year-old girl the good guy in this scenario. I don’t envy his position–that’s a tough one to spin. But she says she’s a woman, so… case closed…I guess.
